hi, I live on Canvey and there are still a few Lazells about, dont know if they are decendants but there families have been on Canvey for a long time.....Dave Lazell is definately still about

I dont know if this helps,but there used to be a family of Jennings that lived in Rectory Rd,Hawkwell.Essex. Its just outside of Rochford.They had a large flower and tomato nursery.This was back in the 50s&60s.I worked there as a boy at weekends.Hope that helps.

As my family emigrated over 30 years ago they lost track of all the cousins.
We have looked on freebmd to verify facts as far as we've been able-though new ones are being added.
We are crossing our fingers that one of them will at some time do a search on this site and reconnect.

Dorothy Jennings b Jan 1908 England-possibly Canvey Island m Alfred John Lazell He was usually called Fred Lazell. (believe the Lazell family used to live on Canvey Island and then moved off it) They had 3 children Robert J Lazell (m Winifred and had child Robert),
Brian C Lazell b abt 1932( m Connie/Constance ?)
and Clive Lazell (adopted into the Lazell family)

Edward Jennings b Jul 1902 England, m Mercy Maria ?(possibly Matthews) They used to live in Stanford-le-Hope

Elizabeth Jennings b Apr 1900 Canvey Island, Essex d March 1935 Canvey Island

George Jennings b 29 Aug 1898 Canvey Island, Essex,
d Great Linford, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
m Ivy Irene Harrison 1906-1954 d Wandsworth, London, child Joy Eileen Jennings abt 1930/31 Joy m Holton Hall. Joy then remarried ? McFall
George's 2nd wife was Florence ? (Florence already had a son -Ronald Smith) We think Ronald m Ann Basley

m Gladys ?-2 chn James Jennings and Peter Jennings (possibly Peter was adopted by Alfred and Gladys) both born before 1939

m William H B Matthews child Monica Mathews. (b before 1939)
Monica m Bill Grafton (could be William Grafton) and had Tracy/Tracey and Mark Grafton

Kate Elizabeth Jennings b 19 Aug 1892 Canvey Island, Essex, d 6 Apr 1936 Canvey Island, Essex,
m Ernest E Depper in 1917 in Rochford

Albert lived only 3 years 1890-1893 b Canvey buried Canvey Island

Walter Jennings b Aug 1888 Canvey Island m Clara Elizabeth Foster (Clara died of the spanish flu about a year after the marriage)

Arthur Samuel Jennings b Nov 1886 Canvey Island

m ? and had daughters Florence Jennings and Kitty Jennings. (?Kitty may be a nickname)

OR

Charles William Jennings b 21 Jan 1885 Canvey Island
m Mabel ? and had chn Sonny Jennings (male), Barbara Jennings and Kitty Jennings. Barbara is believed to have married after 1964 and later in life so unlikely there were any offspring. She was a florist.


Their parents were Charles Walter Jennings b 1862 Bradwell, Essex and Emma b 1863 Althorne, Essex
