Have checked the GRO War deaths Naval Ratings Indices 1939 to 1948 and he does not appear on there.

Also checked the Marine Death indices 1938-1939 and 1941 to 1945 with no luck.

I don't know who erects war memorials, or puts details on them, but perhaps the local council could help, or tell you who to contact.

Hello everyone.

I am seeking any information regarding Able Seaman F. CHEADLE, who died during WWII, he is listed on the Meriden War Memorial, West Midlands.(Solihull area).
His full name is unknown, his age is unknown, and his date of death is unkown. Married/Single also unknown.

He is not listed in the CWGC records.

I've checked the GRO death indexes but could not find a match covering the years 1939 - 1946, and sadly I do not have access to the overseas death indexes.

Any help, however small, would be very much appreciated.

Lin.
