Help, I am really stuck trying to find birth records of Frank William Newnham, from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire dob 1881 Father shown as Harry on marriage cert. I have tried everywhere I can think of to look, I would be grateful for any suggestions - thanks Pat

Hi, He is on the 1901 census, as living with his sister and husband, place of birth Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. On the marriage cert his Fathers profession was stone mason. - Pat

No Frank Newnham born Cheshunt or anywhere in Herts coming up on any census. How do you know his POB?

Have you looked for him under mother's maiden name?

Herts CC have some online records - that might be worth a try - HALS is the site it would come up under Google.

When looking for birth may be an idea to check father named Henry as they seemed to change from one to the other whenever the mood took them as I have found out with my tree

This could possibly be sister Maud's birth reg:

Thanks to all, I am quite new to this, he is known as William and I have searched for birth records under both names. I am assuming the 1901 census record is his. I know he was killed in 1917 in Israel. I really need to confirm his parents names and I can't do that without birth cert. I'll check via his sister Maud and see how I get on.
