It seems to me that two different families are on the go here ?- which will happen if you dont get certificates and work backwards. Get the cert for Eric - if you definitely know he is your ancestor and work backwards from there.

Several people have now given his CWGC listing showing father as Charles Denyer, Godalming and wife as May in Farncombe.

Have you actually followed him backwards? This could be a different man altogether?
What solid info do you have in the way of certificates?

The son Eric, is he a definite ancestor of yours - you know his date and place of birth? If so, buy his birth cert for both parents names before you follow the wrong line.

Got a bit of a mystery. I am trying to find out parents, siblings of William Denyer b.1878 Ash, Surrey, d.1916 France. Son was Eric William Denyer b.1906 Petersfield, Hampshire. Wife of William was Mary ?
It is suggested that his father's name was Charles and a brother was L.Denyer b.c1889 Farncombe.
My problem is that the only William Denyer 1878 Ash that I can find doesn't fit in with any of the other details I have!
Any suggestions please?
