I cannot see a link at this stage. What makes you think trheir is one?

The link is a long shot, I have a Vallance who married my Gt.Gt.Gt Grandmother in 1844 Kings Norton. I have discovered a son of my Gt. Gandfather married a Snelling in Burstow 1916 whose grandmother was Jane Vallance. Possible coincidence!!

I have a Jane Vallance that marries 1 William Brooker in 1847 the their daughter Alice marries William Snelling in 1876 and their daughter Dora Emily marries Thomas Henry Gibbs in 1916, all in the Burstow area. Thomas's Gt Gt Grandmother Elizabeth Gibbs married a William Vallance in 1844 b. Staffordshire c.1796 (her second marriage) The puzzle! is there any connection between these two Vallances?

Just to let you know I have not heard back from Trevor's cousin yet, but we have no details about Thomas Gibbs. Elizabeth and William were married in March l844 in Kings Norton. Have you tried searching on this site for either of them, someone may have them in their tree. Do you have a copy of the marriage cert. of Dora Emily Snelling to Thomas Gibbs, this would give his father's name and then we could look for him on the l90l/ll census and find his place of birth, then go back through the earlier census to find his ancestors. Will be in touch,
