FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 22 Mar 2009 21:05

one has father robert ,one has mother sarah ,not marriied and the other is married to a jane hall

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 22 Mar 2009 20:52

this one was in the
4th battalion yorks reg
mother sarah
age on enlistment on 22/7/1918
27yrs and 9 months
height 5ft 6 and a half inches
chest i think said 27 inches,prob wrong.

he was a casualty at some time but i cant read it all as a lot of the papers are burnt ,ripped and smudged.

Name: John Jacques
Age: 27
Birth Year: abt 1891
Residence : The Grange, Holtby Yorks
Regiment Number: 37877
Document Year: 1918
Number of Images: 18

this one may not be him,but its the most likely out of the surviving service records
no pension records on him,so maybe they didnt survive.
will have a look at census next.

edit::you stoopid woman vivienne ,that cant be him as he married in 1917 and this one says hes not married.

Vivianne
Just did a quick google and I have found
Bombardier (Bdr) and Lance-Bombardier (LBdr or L/Bdr) are used by the British Army in the Royal Artillery and Royal Horse Artillery The rank was equivalent to Second Corporal in the Royal Engineers and Army Ordnance Corps

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 22 Mar 2009 20:25

then you cant check for his ww1 army records.
I think they have them on find my past as well ,but its pay per view or subs.
the list i have given are all the right age for him.
but i need to look at the images to see if any were invalided out.
and then ill search ww1 pension records for him
IF his records survived the blitz!

Pete

Pete Report 22 Mar 2009 19:01

If you have the marriage certificate for John Henry JACQUES and Lilian STREET you should have his age at time of marriage and also his father's name.

With this information it should be possible to search the census
