Hi Everyone

Its the 2008 electoral roll I have had sent to me as well as looking for the 1969, 1970, 1971 and the late 1970's ones.

Could anyone possibly tell me if their is a 2009 electoral roll available please? Perhaps they might appear on there too hopefully.

Thank you.

Darkie

yes Joan I think the old ones are and I think the British Library holds them too. I mentioned that current ones are not held locally.

Darkie, I can do an upto date elec register look up if you PM me their names. Due to a change in European Law, E/R's are no longer (or should not be) held at local libraries, old ones might be but current ones are not, or shouldnt be.

Hi there - I'm rubbish at recent look ups but others on her are great - hang in there and someone will come up with something for you I am sure. Just give this thread a nudge every so often to keep it on the front page

Hi Margaret and Ann

Thank you very much for your replies.

I took the plunge and phoned this family I thought was my foster parents but it turned out out to be the wrong family, the gentleman on the other end of the phone was very pleasant and polite. I thought it was a possibility it could have been them.

Was their a 1969, 1970 or 19 71, electoral roll or any electoral rolls in those years? Does anyone know please? That might possibly help me.

I am asking members on here as my local authority at the South of England are unable to help me as they said my my files are destroyed. I have been trying to locate this family for a number or years. if anyone would like to know the name ot this family please request it my e-mail as I really don't know if they are still living.

Thank you very much.

Regards

Darkie

just because it might be a bit of a shock? you know them better than me of course and I'm sure you will know what is best - if you think best to ring, then go with your instinct and with regard to starting the conversation, I wouldn;t worry about that one bit - all you have to say is "Hi, I'm ?????" and the rest will come naturally!!!

I would imagine that the foster family would be really pleased to hear from you, especially if you tell them what you have told us, that you were very happy with them and they treated you very well.

Hello Everyone

Some good news after the electoral roll was sent to me I think I might have found one set of foster parents I was trying trace, I think they are the correct ones but I am not 100% sure, I looked on 192.com for a phone number which i found, but I am too nervous to phone them or write to them incase they do not remember me as it was so many years ago and I was very happy when I was with this foster family they were really good to me.

How should I start the conversation any ideas please?

Regards

Darkie
