This is where you order certificates from Ireland.


For Southern Ireland (Eire) go to:-

For Northern Ireland go to:-
http://www.groni.gov.uk/index.htm

You cannot order on line but you can phone or send an application form by post which you will find on the appropriate websites.


You will need a credit card though...at least for Southern Ireland...don't know for Norther Ireland.

You can order certificates from Southern Ireland without knowing the Volume and Page numbers.

You can quote what you know....Eg. year of birth, parents names etc and they will do a search for you give, or take a year or so.

If they can't find it you won't be charged the full amount of a certificate....just a search fee. They will let you know by post the years they searched.

When ordering certificates from Ireland you can 'tick' the photocopy box on the application form and your certificate will be a couple of £'s cheaper.

It will be on plain white paper headed up " Research Facility - Birth Record" instead of the standard Irish Certificate paper (with the Harp) but their printed headings..... and the handwritten details from the records will be exactly the same.

What I really wanted to know is if she had been registered in Southern Ireland so that I can obtain [I hope] a copy of the birth cert.

How do I find out what year/quarter so that I can order a cert? Do you think that I shall be wasting my time if her mother's and father's name is not recorded?

Does anyone have access to records in Southern Ireland? I have one relative who was born in Dublin in 1878 - Florence Victoria Sneath.

Some kind sole on this website found this information for me and it would be wonderful if i could find out concrete information.

Her date of birth was 2/1/1878. I believe that her parents Samuel Sneath and Eliza Sneath were in the theatre and so it may be that Florence was born in Dublin whilst they were there working.
