i am very grateful for all the time and effort taken in getting the above details it will take me some time to digest the info and look further into the info that i have.so please don't delete as i will get back to youwith anything that i find and i will do as you suggest and get credits for the 1911 census to see what info i can get.

I wasn't looking for 'background'.....just your reaction to the info I took trouble to find.

For instance, using units to get 1911 census info, which shows Phillis Hide calling herself a widow.................which, obviously, she wasn't.

i was born and lived in watford with my grand parents jonathan levy or levey hide and his wife phillis louise hide nee bradley.who i am led to believe were married on 23rd july 1905My father edward joseph hide whom i have a half birth certificate for shows that he was born in maidstone on 20th january 1912 his older brother arthur james hide was born on 5th march 1909 in sevenoaks,kent,these details verified by his sons.my fathers' younger brother was douglas john hide born in chesham,bucks on28thaugust 1914. i have looked at douglas and edwards'birth details on free b m d and was surprised to see rose beatrice hide nee renshaw listed as their mother i am at present awaiting the bith certificate for arthur hide to see who is listed as his mother. i had always beleived that phillis louise was my grandmother to the day she died at home in watford on 7th jan1965.i never had any reason to doubt that she wasn't.i have the distribution details of her fathers' estate where the three brothers mentioned above were listed along with jonathan and his brothers and other family names that i remember,there is no mention of any rose beatrice hide/renshaw in any family papers.
i only have access to my computer after 7-30pm so i may be a bit late responding to any contacts
i hope this gies a bit more background info to you.
