Hi Sablon. you probably don't remember me but you were very helpful in searching for 2 of my mum's brothers (May 25th) Well just to let you know that i have recieved the birth certificate from the info you found and it is indeed the right Terence Hogan. So a big thank you. I still can find no trace of "Jackie" Hogan but did look for a child from her previous marriage as you suggested and found a Federick Sowden as to whether this is Jackie i'm afraid i'll never know. i have great respect for you and others who can do this so easily. I think i've come to a dead end now as i can't find a birth record for my grandfather. |

Hi Sablon thanks for your reply and advice, i'm finding my way around slowly!!! I have John Hogans marriage certificate and it only gives his age and father's name no place of birth unfortunatly. His place of birth would open so many doors but there is no way of finding out i'm afraid. Doing this has made me realise how important it is to keep any old papers, documents photos etc and to talk to other family members about your life. |

I've always assumed he was born in Ireland beacause i remember my mum saying he was irish, and vaguely recall her saying something about him coming over on the "tatty boat" ? |
