Find Ancestors

Please can anyone help?
I am looking for William Henry Rawlinson born 1860 in Liverpool, his father was Robert Rawlinson born in Leyland 1833 and his mother was Mary Rawlinson nee Turton. I have been unable to find Robert or Mary on any Census except the 1881, were it is just Robert and William. Robert is listed as a warehouse man and William is a french polisher. Robert and Mary were married in 1853, so I am sure that there must have been brothers and sisters, but because I have been unable to trace the family in 1861 and 1871 census I have no proof. On the 1881 census Robert and William are living in Liverpool and Robert is married not widowed but Mary isnt listed.

Please can anyone help?

Probably! The info on the 1881 Census lists him as being born 1860, but obviously this isnt definately right.

I also thought that this must be them, however was unsure why he would list himself as born Liverpool in 1861 and Leyland in 1881.


If I could find them on the 1871 census with William Henry on it, and place of birth Liverpool, then I would go with that.

if you can not find the family as a whole on 1871 then they must have either been transcribed wrong or be split up.
