Sue and Christine, I am trying to find Mary Allen in 1901 and 1911. Nothing to find her so I thought she might be married to someone after 1891.

Mary was alive in 1908 and gave some money to Gertrude Allen Rutherford for her son. It was from Dr Barnardos by my distant cousin.

Regards, Steven.

Tracey, thanks for another 1901 of them. That's mean Mary Wakefield is not what I am looking for. :-(

Vera, thanks about James Gammon.

Susan, thanks, I will check them.

Yes, I have seen Daniel Holland and I am still suspecting them because I have Sarah Holland was married to Reuben Brierley who might be related to Mary Allen. Sarah Holland's mother was Sarah Allen. But they were in Lancashire.

Reuben and Sarah had a daughter named Gertrude Mary Brierley who was born in 1889. I think Mary Allen had my great grandmother, Gertrude Allen Rutherford who was fostered in 1889. Very confusing!

Gertrude Mary Brierley gave an old book to Gertrude Rutherford's son. Gertrude Brieley's parents wrote their names on the book to her.

Regards, Steven.

It looks as if Clitheroelass has found the correct Mary and William in 1901 for the marriage.

Who are you working back from as you say she might be your gggrandmother?

Hi Steven
All of the marriages I posted I have checked and they are not her.
Are you sure of her marriage to a William Wakefield could she have married another.Sue

Stevendeg

Stevendeg Report 28 Jun 2009 08:15

Hi Susan, I don't think they were them in 1871. Because William Wakefield or Mary Allen were married in Jun 1891 from FreeBMD.

And yes, that was her in 1861. She worked in Post Office in Caversham for Edward Gales from 1871 to 1891.

Thanks, Steven.

This looks like a possible but gives a different area for birth
William was previously married before to a charlotte possible death 1884.
The child Flora was born in paddington so looks possible this is the census to the marraige found in 1891.

Hi Clitheroelass, many thanks for your time.

I just checked them in FreeBMD if James Wakefield and Mary were married. No records of them.

I see that they don't have any children. Maybe William wanted to call his name as James.

Could you please what relation of James Gammon to James Wakefield?

Thanks again, Steven.

I am looking for Mary Allen who was born in 1850 at Caversham, Oxfordshire. I have her 1851 to 1891 as she was a single. But I am unable to find her in 1901.

I think she might be married to William Wakefield in 1891, according to FreeBMD.

Could anyone please look up Mary Wakefield in 1901? I think it is in Reading, Berwick. I found her in findmypast.com but I don't have any credits.

If you find her, please give me all information in her census. She might be my great great grandmother.

Thanks, Steven.
