Great work, you have the correct family, his younger brother Henry was my grandfather & it looks like he was living with my grandmother Ellen Thumwood & her family before they married. Do we know who James married?

Another look at the war records and Lizzie is called Lovegrove and married in Brentford so this is the couple I think

I cant find them on the 1901 either. In the war records it does mention Birmingham..I think thats where he was discharged

Anne states that George was ..."living in Kent in 1901."
She does not say whether he was married by then or not .
But I can not find him on the 1901 census

Also a search for a marriage but could only guess at which one might be correct.

I am looking for any info on my grandfather's brother George William Sparks b. 1874 Mitcham, Surrey, believed to be a Boer war veteran, living in Kent in 1901. He was one of six sons born to Thomas Sparks & Lavinia Cripps Rawding.
