while I was looking through 1891 census's I noticed Robert White Birmingham, Islington and visitor, thought Robert may be mistran for Roland.
Just a lucky find!

Not sure about the 1891 - James was born in Birmingham and there is no evidence of Emily or Eleanor in 1881. Hard to say, but I do not think it is him. And Rowland seems to have disappeared completely!
But the marriage looks good. Whatever is wrong with me? Need sleep I think (what's that? No time for sleep when there is research to be done!)

James was a silversmith so that clinches it.
I had looked for Roland/Rowland but specified his birthplace as Birmingham - an interesting transcription there!
