Hi

Any chance you could look me up a marriage between Samuel Dann or Dan and Rachel. They would have married between 1805 and 1820.

Thankyou
Derek

Hi Julie

Just wondered if you can find a Stephen Fogden who married a Lizzy (I'm guessing Elizabeth was her full name) in the Chicester area around 1817 plus or minus five or so years.

Thanks so much for your help!
Belinda

Belinda

There were two marriages in the right year frame:

1/8/1815 To Sarah Vernon Bosham W Sussex
and then

10/05/1818 to Eliza Heath at North Mundham W Sussex, her a spinster, he a bachelor, both of the parish.
The second seems the likeliest.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Julie! That is them! Looks like she was pregnant before they got married - ha ha.

Thanks a million. I had a feeling her name was Heath, but couldn't find the marriage on the IGI.

Thanks again

Hi Julie

Just wondered if you could look up a marriage for a John Heath to Grace (surname unknown) around 1770-1791. I found one on 28 Jan 1787 to Grace Sheve in Rumboldswyke, Sussex and this seems most likely (first child I can see is in 1790, but just want to check that you haven't any more on your list.

thanks very much, I've got back another generation with your help!
Kind regards
Belinda

Hi Julie,
I have been put on to you to see if you can help me with a problem.
An ancestor named Thomas Grout Christened 2nd July 1769 Racton Sussex.[parents John and Elizabeth].
I cannot trace any marriage records for the parents.
The only one i can find for a John and Elizabeth is a marriage in Norfolk on 1st Jan 1766.
Have noticed that there were Grouts in Bosham and Westbourne[are they related at all?].
Can you help me in this?
Await your comments.
Regards.
Michael.

Hi Julie,
Wonder if you can help me.
I know that Henry (Harry) Vernon married Frances Constable in Eastbourne about 1812. Do you know if their parents names would be listed anywhere. I haven't been able to trace this marriage record on any of the sites I subscribe to and so am unable to trace any further back than these two people.
Many thanks
Rosemary

Hi Julie,
thought I'd asked you this last night but can't find it on my threads - obviously brain not working!
I have a Henry (Harry) Vernon married to Frances Constable in Eastbourne 1812 (I assume this info is correct - I haven't been able to find this record on any of the sites i'm subscribing to). Can you tell me if Henry's father would be listed. I can't find a birth record for Henry (Harry) so can't work out if the family were from Sussex or elsewhere. Many thanks.
Regards
Rosemary

Oops sorry just found that I have asked you twice - Apologies.

Hi JulieEssex,
Sorry to hear about family news.
Thats the Elizabeth that i found so it looks like they must have moved to Racton for the birth of my Thomas and James.
Did it say what Johns occupation was as his son Thomas was a groom by trade and they tended to carry on the tradition in those days.
How about Johns father who married a Mary Howard in 1725[Westbourne].
Any details about him at all as to where he came from as i cannot trace a local birth for the early 1700s.
Await your comments.
Much regards.
Michael.

Hi JulieEssex,

I am researching the Saltmarsh family and would love to know more about John Saltmarsh, married to Mary Ann Carden in Brighton in 1826 at St Nicholas Church, and later in 1833 to Elizabeth Woodbridge on 14 April 1833 at St Nicholas. I found the wedding dates but need to confirm his father's name (I think it is Jeremiah but only the full details would tell me and he is too early for a birth certificate). Thanks! Kathy
