Find Ancestors

I am compiling my tree with a great deal of help from a couple of members
I am however stuck on the white family.
I can only trace back as far as my great grandfather
ADAM WHITE was born in jarrow in 1887
he died in swansea 20/2/1949
The only thing i know is that my father called him "DA" which is geordie area slang for dad
He left Jarrow possibly with the merchant navy but after meeting his wife ADA he never really went back
I have been told that my aunt was taken to Jarrow as a young girl and met his two sisters but I know no more than that.
I would really like to hear from any WHITE family in the Jarrow region to discuss the possible link
I actually live in stockton on tees now and was only in Jarrow 2 weeks ago for the first time .
Any information would be welcomed

If he only had sister's and no brothers, they may have married and the White name not be applicable. If you can find Adam on the census with his family, it will give you some first names to work with.

From the 1911 census, these are in the same household as Adam White, but the DOB is 1878:

Hi everyone and thank you all for this help
at the moment with school holidays etc i can sign up for a gold account to access the census
i signed for silver to access a particular tree relating to the other side of my family and am slowly filling in the gaps
its very time consuming
I will continue to monitor this thread and try find out as much as i can from my family about adam b7ut my difficulty is that i dont live anywhere near my family any more and have not seen a lot of them for many years
