Find Ancestors

Can anybody please help me as I seem to be in a pickle, I am trying to
find details of my g-mother Lucy May Hall’s family she was born in Swansea area and died in Carmarthen on 18/8/1976, I have got her death cert which is definitely the correct one, it gives her dob as 4/4/1888 in Builth Wells which is near Swansea. But it gives her Maiden Surname as Thomas, but this must be an error, as I know her Maiden name was Thorne both from my Fathers word of mouth and his birth certificate. I researched for her birth cert on BMD but the only one that came up was one for 22/4/1887 in Swansea which is in the same area but there is a 12 mth discrepancy, is this the right one? fathers name was Edwin John Thorne and mother Rachel
I have looked up the 1901 census and found a Lucy May Thorne living in High St Builth Wells with her mother Rachel & bro Henry and it gives occupation as Fruiterer but no record of her father Edwin John Thorne. where is he ?
I looked up the 1911 census and found Lucy May Thorne in High St Builth Wells living with her father Edwin John Thorne occupation Baker & Fruiterer and two sisters Sarah age 26 (but there was no mention of Sarah in the 1901 census) and Edith 8, but no mother, after researching the BMD again I found Rachel died in March1909 district was listed as Blaby ??? where is Blaby.
On searching the BMD for birth of Edwin John Thorne I find that he was born in Dec 1869 which doesn’t tie in with the 1911 census which gives his age as 66.
Lucy age in the 1901 census is down as 14 but in the 1911 census is 21 which should be 24.
Could somebody please help me sort this out, am I on the right track? .

Blaby registration district is in Leicestershire.

Dates of birth on death certificates are only as accurate as the informant's knowledge - they often get it wrong.

An Ann Jeremiah married in 1862 in Swansea (choices of spouse were Jenkins or Parsons).

On the 1891 census there is an Ann Jenkins c1842 a Greengrocer and Widow.

An Ann Jenkins married in 1893 in Swansea and a poss spouse was John Byron.

the Rachel Thorne who died in Blaby in 1909 was born in approximately 1836.

Edwin's wife Rachel was born in approximately 1853.

Hello Michael,
1901 Census - Sarah missing.
Sarah was away from home and appears with Edith as her sister in 1911census. I would suspect Edith is Sarah's daughter.
