We have some beautiful handmade lace and crochet that were Maria's and we never knew who taught her to do it-Looks like it waws her aunt that she lkived with then-dear Eliza! We were always told she learnt it as a lady's maid-but looks like thats not quite right then. What address please is Eliza and Sarah in 1851? Thanks so much everyone

Maria Knowles age 5 and aunt was Eliza Burgess,uncle Samuel Burgess,a boot maker. All at White Street Topsham,Devon. England. That was 1861. I know Eliza was previously called Eliza Knowles-she was Marias Dads sister. Can anyone find Eliza before that year please. I think the Knowles family were from nearby Lympstone or Woodbury. Maria's Dad was called Thomas Knowles if that helps. Tahnks for any help.
