Find Ancestors

Hello All,
I'm trying to find the parents of Clarice.
I have Clarice as being born in India, and her father as William Franklin who was a Sgt Major in the Royal Fusiliers, but no other details, for example when they came to Engalnd or her mothers name.
Clarice married Joseph Smith Betts in Fulham 1911 but they both have occupations in the colliery at Whitburn, County Durham.

Which way do I go? I've tried several India links but no luck so far.

Hello All,

I'm aware there has been a delay in my response here, but I allowed my membership to elapse and things moved on.
Anyway, I got the cert as suggested and using the info gleaned I managed to further the search, making contact with another branch of the family and finding lots of details including remarriage, suicides and mysterious deaths, illegitimate siblings and other twists and turns in military records!
