Have you found a marriage for Ella Wood to Lawson? I haven't found anything yet on FreeBMD.

I have tried to find William H's birth in Scotland, nothing in Aberdeen with inital H. .

This is the marriage ref for the couple that Jonesey found in 1901 Census

I was unde the impression they all came fom England but it is possible I have learnt not to take things for granted in FH.

Christina, might be worth getting first cert - a bit of a long shot but might be family witnesses, and as Jonesey says you can double-check details re, father.

Dont have both marriage certs just his last one but just noticed the witness were Joseph Graham and Edith L Mallary

Harry's occupation was Bricklayers labourer

He was also previously married to Annie Sophie Gill but he was widowed and re married

I'm afraid it doesn't ring any bells so far ,yes the info is from Harrys marriage cert to Dorothy May Marsh in Dover

there is no harry lawson on the 1901 with parents william and ella

there is a henry with william and ellen

Harry's father was William Harry Lawson

Do you have his marriage cert by any chance? His father's name - and occupation - plus any witnesses might help locate him.
