Been there a couple of days.

Wonder what they are going to do this time. Probably some new records that I can not access with my membership package.

There is also a similar message about ancestry.com.au My system seems to swing back and forwards between the two addresses. Can't find any difference between them.

Its been back since midmorning/lunchtime

I'm hopeful that they'll add the transcribed deaths (like the births & marriages) - fingers crossed

Doesnt look like they added anything new.. Unless I'm blind? If so, what was just added?

Was hoping for transcribed Death for 1916-1983

This just appeared..

The Family Tree service on Ancestry.co.uk will undergo scheduled maintenance and be unavailable for about two hours beginning on Tuesday, 10 November, at about 8 a.m. (GMT). Thank you for your patience.

Will it be an update or new records this time? Doubt it, just there to tease us members! :o|

sometimes I'm glad that I live in North America!!

They've usually finished whatever "maintenance" they've done by the time I get on here!

The only thing different I noticed was a new message which appears when you first access the site. Along the lines of "Are you looking for your family tree, click on here".

I've just noticed this evening that census images seem to be loading much faster that they did yesterday!

Oh that's easy to explain. The images load faster over there because you are closer to the main computer which controls the loading.

We are so far away over here they load just as slowly as ever!!!

Waits for incoming.................

Do you know that when I first started using Ancestry I complained very bitterly to them about the speed with which everything worked. Duh! I had no idea that things just didn't load in real time. Now I've learned differenter, I'm more patient with it. Almost!!

By the way, you missed!!

Searchable deaths would be marvellous; makes such a diference from trawling through pages of stuff, specially when you don't have much idea about when they did die.

Would someone untie the knot in the cable that sends us the data. This morning Ancestry is so slow it is painful.

Yes I've done the normal clean out of my system.

There is also another Tuesday shut down advertised for 10th November Aust time. Same time as before. Looks like they might be doing a series of rolling changes.

Hope one of the changes is a little more speed.
