Hi, i wonder if any of you genealogical whizz's can help.

I am looking for details of a marriage between My Grt Grt Grandfather and grandmother.

My Grtgrt Gramps name was James Alfred tarrant , born 1867 Yiewsley , I have his wife down ( as do many others ) as Annie Hawkes.

Problem is, many other researchers have her down as Annie Darbon

I am trying to find out which one he was married to, or if indeed he was married , perhaps, to both !

I will have to read through these posts 2 or 3 times i think ( i be a bit thick),

Interesting that a witness with the Tarrant Darbon marriage was a Hawkes tho !

I Know my Great Grandad (Charlie Tarrant ) had the following siblings

Thanks for yer help so far, and i feel there is definitely a story here...but looking at all these facts, figures and names, my brain seems to be fried and not functioning properly ( please excuse my ignorance and senior moments).

I am still not getting the probable story, tho i know it is probably there staring me in the face now!

Just to clarify, this is my side of the family that i know for definite ( death certs etc)

My Gran Was Ellen Rebecca Elizabeth Tarrant B. 2nd feb 1921 in Brentford Middx.

Her Parents werer Charles William tarrent Born 22 july 1891 in Hillingdon Middx
and
Selina Alice Dossett1894
They married on 14th oct 1916.

Charles's ( who also had a son named Charles) parents were james and Annie.

Would anybody be so very kind and help me piece this all together ?

( By the way...are any of you lot in the police force ? seem to be some brilliant detectives on here ! :) )

From what the others have found, you are correct Annie's father was Daniel Darbon who died in 1878. Her mother married Charles Hawkes the following year. So Hawkes was her Step father's name which perhaps she adopted but her birth name was Annie Darbon.

It seems the confusion of ANNIES surname comes from the fact that she was born DARBON.
Her father DANIEL DARBON died, Then her mother REBECCA married CHARLES HAWKES.
