	On the 1861 census, the address says Operative Jewish Con... It looks like a place where new immigrants lived.

	And just to throw my usual two cents in -- the names in square brackets in the records at Ancestry copied here indicate that an Ancestry user has corrected the mistranscription. For Annie/Fanny in 1871, the correction simply says "it says", i.e. it has been transcribed incorrectly. The same person made the correction for Louis/Lewis in 1861; this time the explanation is "other census". The important thing is -- you can contact that user through the Ancestry system. It may be someone with whom you share an ancestor. I make loads of corrections/notes at Ancestry, and I've met a couple of interesting distant cousins who contacted me that way. If you don't have a subscription at Ancestry, you could give someone here who does your email address and it could be passed on to the Ancestry user.

	Good evening to all who have responded to this thread, i am sorry i have not been around since last night, my laptop keeps closing down when i try and open things, so sorry for not getting back to you all.
