Not much help RE: death, but, found an article in Illustrated Police news dated Sat May 9th 1885 -

Attempt To Throw Policeman Over Stair Bannister - It states

Daniel Buckley Howard "Hawker" !, was a Police Constable at time of assult,16th May 1883.

so after poking around on the censuses (you could have told us this Sarah!!)


In 1901 Mary is by herself with the children, shown as HEAD but also as Married


Have you found Daniel on the 1911?



are we to assume that he died between 1891 and 1901??

could anyone help me please. Im trying to find the birth and death of my Great Great Grandfather Daniel Howard. Possibly born 1851 in Ardwick Manchester. I've tried the Cheshire bmd but no luck. His middle name was Buckley.
