Well done Jacqueline. This just proves yet again the importance of working from certificates rather than just assuming that you have found the correct family on the census records.

Elizabeth needs to sign up with Scotlandspeople and get these certificates and then look for parents and siblings on the census records. The census you have found tie in nicely with the information on the certificates that you have looked at.

Received your pm stating that the census was incorrect as you have traced Jessie with parents Agnes and John but her marriage cert clearly states that her parents were James and what I thought looked like Mary but could well be May I have viewed the image. So I think that the census info that you think is Jessie and her family is wrong. Birth record states parents are James and May too thats how I managed to note the wrong date.

You can get the marriage certificate from http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk £6 for 30 credits - 1 credit to view search result and 5 to view / download certificate.

The marriage certificate will give you the names of the parents (including the mothers' maiden surname) of both bride and groom, their fathers' occupations and whether the parents are deceased. It also gives ages for bride and groom, occupations and addresses. It will also give the names and addresses of the witnesses.

When you have this information come back to your thread and post the details and I'm sure people will be able to help you if you wish to go backwards.
