because he is living in Islington when he is age 25 is no guarantee that he was born there

It might be worth getting his marriage certificate to find out who is father is then you may be able to find the right one on a census and will confirm if the baptism Jim found is the right one

Islington, Hackney & Kensington are 3 separate registration districts

If I have read the query correctly?....

The banns state he is of the parish of St Jude Islington and the bride is of St Martin Epsom.

At the end of the entry there is a note that a certificate has been given.

This means the banns have been read in his own parish and a certificate issued so that he could marry in the bride's parish.

So the marriage entry for Epsom would be correct.

just google earthed the areas hakney long way from kensington, and his birth is erith which is by river thames oh bugga

of this parish could mean that he had only been living in the parish for a short while

many couples moved into the same parish to save the expense of having the banns read in 2 different parishes
