I have compared my notes on John Tomlin and Mary with the respones you all so kindly sent yesterday.

I now have a maiden name for Mary and a date of marriage.
Looking at my notes a marriage in 1846 fits as there was a son, James, born in 1847.

I have all the children mentioned in your responses but I did not have the correct dates of birth or christenings so that was useful information.

John Tomline,1819 and Jane Tomline, 1816 ,were the children of John Tomlin senior.

I didn't have a record for Charles Tomline christened 11 June 1848.

That's a few more gaps filled in. You're all very good aren'y you? And so quick.

Can't find him on 1841 census.

I have ten children for John Tomlin (1819) and seven children for his father, John Tomlin, (1779).

Excuse me MINNIE they are Extracted reords but must be John senior and John juniors children.

I saw those christenings too - they are submitted to need to be taken with a pinch of salt

Mel, all those christenings cant be John Tomlin, born 1819 's children, can they?

On one of those Christenings I put up the names were either Tomlin or Step?? some of those children also have birth dates. I will go back and put the births on the ones that have them. John's one only has his Christening date and no birth.

Childrens birth certs will give her maiden name.

I am searching for the marriage of John Tomlin. I believe he was born 11 Jun 1819 in Hinton Waldrist, Berks. Census records give his spouse as Mary from either Draycott Moor Berks or Southmoor. I do not know her maiden name.
