ive found a reference but unfortuantely I dont have the subscription to view it ...would some kind soul tell me what it says please. Details as follows:

From Hamburg to Ostafrika (East Africa) via Rotterdam.

I am not sure of the dates but I know he was in Africa by 1891 if this is of any help,
