just to say the wittnestes on the marrage cert were henry furgus wright who was my great grandad and amelia sophia wright who was my nans sister inlaw so ive ruled them out .oh dear what a carry on i dont know my nans birthday but she died in 1955 aged 80which gives us 1874/1875 pat

There is a FLORA Alice Gunning b 1875 Mar Q West Ham vol 4a page 4

She appears 1881 (mistranscribed as GUMING) as daur of Martin H Gunning b1833 Lytchet Dorset and he is a Carpenter. She has a bother Robert and if her father died when she was young she may not have known his first name and assumed it was Robert like her brother
The entry of fathers names on marriage certs is very unreliable for various reasons -who are the witnesses on the marriage cert?

Hi I found Flora her parents were Martin Henry born in Dorset 1833 died West Ham 1882 he was a carpenter.His wife was Mary Catherine Brookman born aobut 1836 in Southampton died 1891 reristered in Dec but can't find her 1891 census.They were married 1857.

1881 they are down as Guming.

As there seems to be no record of birth or census for a Florence could this be her and her dad chose to call himself Robert.
Martin and Mary had son Robert 1868.
