I have a Phineas Crowther born c1801/3 in Royton Lancashire,he married a Judith ? I have searched the marriage index for 1538-1940 for judith's maiden name and can't seem to find it.Judith was born c1801 Slathwaite Yorkshire any help much appreciated regards marie.

I thought with a name like Phineas it would be quite easy to find his wifes maiden name obviousley not

I have Phineas and Judith on the 1841 census and there daughter mary born 1831 married my Grt Grt grandfather in 1848 at st chads Rochdale

On the 1841 census Phineas has been mistranscribed as Thomas crowther

On 1861 - their daughter Hannah was born in Oldham.

Lancs Bmd gives mothers maiden names so I have found the following:

Sorry to disappoint you but I am not yet a 'star'

I took the details from 1861 census which has Hannah born Oldham and aged 23.

However, when I checked through everything this morning the 1841 has her aged 13, she is 22 on 1851, so although the age is very clear on 1861, they obviously have it wrong!!

I will look again today for you and see if I can earn back my 'star' status.

I'm very gratefull that i have Phineas parents on the 1841 census his father phineas is also mistranscribed as Thomas age 70 with his wife Mary Clegg this is info that i didn't have and thank you for giving me your time it's really appreciated regards marie.
