Well thank you ! especially Shirley

i have found my Valentine !!

as Edith Valentine ( no father named) mother Ford, formally Heron,
although all the previous children after her husband Joseph ford died were Keir ( Kate, Victor, Bernard and Sidney) i cannot find a marriage for Merle Ford formally Heron getting married to Sidney Keir !

In some papers of my own mother i found she said that Merle (Pearl/e) was married to George Ford ? the Fords wer market people in Woolwich and i wonder if Merle married or was with George Ford a relation of her first husband at any time

I am susure seeing the photos of my own grnadmother Kate and Valentine ( Edith Valentine) that they wer from the same parent as they look exactly the same

Thank you, i do think there must be a problem with the name somehow, if i can find Jaunita that must help perhaps.

I know Val was in the WAAF with a Alma Cheetham ( her sister in law) but Alma is in her 80's

Do you think i can find an electrol roll with VAL on ? or WW2 records of some sort ?

Kay

Kay Report 23 Jan 2010 16:59

I am wondering if Paul is a McCormack ?

Also does anyone know anything about Royal Navy and the WAAF best places to search ?

Hi Yes i would like the birth for Juanita please, there is much confusion as Merle chopped and changed names the son Bernard was hard to find as it was transcribed wrong, but i now have that but no Valentine,

Valentine is male of female name , my mothers middle name was Valentine

Depends when VAL was born if she was really a Ford or a Keir or in her mothers maiden name of Heron

Surely Valentine is a male name??
You should be able to find her marrige to Mccormack by using the surname combination

Kay

Kay Report 23 Jan 2010 16:05

Tricky one this !
Looking for Valentine could be Ford, Keir or Heron ( mother Merle Heron )

Merle Heron born 1889 ( sometimes know as Perl/e) married a Joseph Ford 1907 had at least 4 children Mary Anne (Polly) George, Joseph and Ivy in Plumsted/Woolwich

Her husband Joseph Ford died 1915 not sure if she married Sidney KEIR as i cannot find marriage certificate (help required with this too ) the father of Kate, Victor,Bernard and Sidney KEIR also Val ( think 99% Valentine) Where is Valentine i know Val married a McCormack and a McCord she had children Juanita and Paul and possible David she at one time lived in Basildon and South Ockendon and was in the WAAF

She could be any combination of the Surnames is it transcribed wrong, ? there are gaps in the line of children for her mother Merle( Pearl/e) k1909,1913, 1915,1916,1918,&19 1921, 1922-1927 and after May 1927 Merle married a Ernest How in 1934 there wre no children to this marriage she was still know to be alive up to about 4 years ago

I think the most likely is after 1915 and before 1934 and it should be 99% Woolwich or Plumstead.

Thank You
