FreeBMD is incredible. Give yourself 10 minutes to read the basics. It will be worth it.

Anne ................ you really should try to get a handle on using freebmd, it's by far the best site for finding the information for England and Wales from 1837 to ca 1940.

Im just learning my way around 1911 census, i must admit im not to keen on free Bmd as i cant seem to get the hangt of using that.

I have credits on the 1911 census which i completly forgot about.

I do have a Alfred Henry Coney, so i doubt if he changed his name. I have a full history on Alfred.

The only people i need imformation on after birth is Emma,Caroline. They both appear in 1901 census, then im lost after that.

Alfred couldn't have been Alfred Frederick or vice versa could he??


Or could he have decided to call himself Frederick because he didn't like Alfred??


Our ancestors have all sorts of tricky little things for us you know!!


Or Frederick could be a nephew of course!

scroll down and click on Full Person Search

scroll down and click on Advanced Search

Enter the name of a known person (eg Henry Coney)

Birth year +/-5

I entered Caroline in Other Person in Household

Search


I found Henry in Wandsworth

Make a note of exact location of the person


Go back to Advanced Search

Leave Christian name blank

Enter surname

clear birth year and +/-

Enter exact location in Location box

Enter name of person just found in Other Person

that brought up the other 3!



You then have to buy credits to look at the transcript and iomage to see the full details ...................... like occupation, birth places, number of children born/living/dead.


Lookign for Emma Coney didn't help .... there were several, but none had a Coney in the household with them



and if she was married .........................

I wonder where Fredrick Coney fits in? As he is not on any other records for Henry Coney and Caroline Powells children. I have tried checking on Ancestry and nothing shows up.

Emma Coney is not as unusual a name as one might think!!


I looked on www.freebmd.org.uk ......a FREE site that you could use yourself! .... to look for possible marriages.

This is a possible marriage in the London area ....... you'll have to try to sort out who her husband was!!

There are several other marriages in other areas of the coutnry

Im trying to find if Emma Coney married and when she died.

Emma Coney born sept 1886 in Greater London
In 1901 she was living in Streatham.
Her parents are Henry Coney and Caroline Powell

She is on the 1901 census age 15


Can someone please help
