Amazing how many variations recorded on the censuses. Voice, Voyce and Boyce. My Great Grandfather Birth Cert stated Voice and D with Charles Weaving as Voice. So I guess the person who jotted down the census returns didnt listen properly or people couldn't write!!

Quinsgran: Ellen did have an aunt Charlotte. Charlotte was listed Boyce when she married James Cripps. I wasnt sure if it was the same person

Thats explains why I am been unable to find her as the census people spelt the name wrong.

I seem to have one complicated ancestor on my hands the moment.

I am looking for Ellen Ann Voice on the 1871 and 1881 census., she is not there. She was born in Cranham (Stroud district) Gloucestershire around 1868 according to Census 1891 under her married name but her birth is listed on the FreeBMD on Sept QTR 1870 in Stroud under Ellen Ann Voyce. I know censuses can shift year of birth by a year or two. I tried different variations. (I know her surname is spelt VOICE on numerous certificates I have on my Grandfather) I was wondering if I could have a second pair of eyes in case I have overlooked as I keep getting Ellen A Voice 1874 Titchfield and Ellen Ameila 1859 St Braviels which both are not my Great Great Grandmother.
