Lorna...In case you havent this...Joseph Henry Sutcliffe Birth Registered June Quarter 1891 Manchester...a check of the 1901 census will show his parents names and family...Sorry I dont have it to Check...

Lorna if you check out the 1911 Census you will find Joseph H Sutcliffe...also look at Gertrude Sutcliffe.....Manchester

That looks like it could be her obviously with everything year of birth can be out by several years can only confirm for definate once a cert has arrived. I do believe she had a Brother named Owen if that is any use at all??

Yes Joseph 1917, James Born & Died 1920, Gertrude 1927. The only children from that marriage.

Lorna....Had already found her Marriage and 2 of the children Joseph H b.June 1917 and James 1920...

Thanks for that Colin, there is conflicting stories whether she was born in Ireland or Manchester (maybe a family tale to tell), it is thought that it is Ireland but sometimes these things turn out to be wrong, good to have some names to rule in or out with other info I can piece together.

I hadn't realised that I could search for Irish census like that, Thanks very much for that link. I do think she was already in Manchester by the 1911 though, I just don't seem to be able to find her or her family (which apparently she was one of 20 children! some born in Manchester some in Ireland) on any passenger lists. I don't have access to the full 1911 so cannot see who she would be with. Thanks for your advice good to know when I go back further.

Could she still have been in Ireland in 1911? You can search the Irish 1911 census free on this site:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
You will have her father's name from the marriage cert so that might
help confirm any findings.

Hi Could somebody please help, we have an Ellen Foran B.1890 in Ireland, she went to Manchester, I cannot find when she came to Manchester, we have her marriage etc but can't find who she was with in the 1911 census assuming she was here then as she married 1916. Any help is much appreciated. I haven't come across relatives overseas before. Thanks in anticipation.
