Can someone look at the 1881 census for this family. They are at 83 Brougham Street Birkenhead. I need to know as much detail as possible for the children especially Edith Ellen 1861 is she recorded as their daughter? thanks |

Thanks Jonesey As you can see I am still on the trail. This does confirm Ediths parents. I also have an Ellen on the 1861 census same date of birth living in st helens with her Mother Margaret and father James Hewitt nee Borton or Horton, Ellens father dies when she is 2 and her mother remarries to Thomas Ashall I thought they could be the same person, but it looks as though they are two different people thanks once again for your help regards Eileen |

The 1841 is notoriuosly dodgy, but Joseph may have been married before or they just lived together |
