Valerie, wouldn't say you "shoudl" put census on thread, but it really can help researchers on here to get a fix on the person so it is helpful. Are you able to "cut &paste"? Let me know if not, it's very easy and makes things much quicker.

I think the family are still in Scotland 1851 census......St Cuthbert's Edinburgh......unfortunately due to an error with the records I haven't been able to get details

Copy & paste (not cut, sorry!)

place cursor just outside a corner of what you want to copy - let's say top left
depress left mouse button and keep pressed down
drag cursor over the page - the area will turn blue
when happy with this, release mouse button - page will stay blue
click right mouse button over blue area
you will see "copy" as one of the options - left click on this
go to where you want to put this - for example on a thread
right click on the blank page
left click on "paste"

Hopefully this should work!

It's a bit fiddly to start with but incredibly useful - I copy all sorts of stuff now, e.g. website addresses (very hard to copy accurately), information I want to save, you name it. You can use it to move stuff around if you have typed a document - cut and paste will do the same but delete the copied section. So if you want to put a paragrah further down say, you can do this easily.
Play around with it and see!
