my grandad william robson born 1894 in newcasle is the son of thomas johnson robson. the problem i have is that there are 2 thomas johnson robsons born within a couple of years of each other one in 1861 and one in 1863. both chollerton one has no children the other has 2 but no record of my grndfather.anyone have any ideas ....i dont know of any other avenue to go at the moment. i dont even know what williams mothers name was.
any information will be gladly received.

Do you know if Thomas had any other children besides your grandfather? If so, do you know any names for them?

the witnesses are ellen cicley thompson and john clasper inglton or ingleden im unsure.

hi julie the rough birth year i have is from the birth of my grandfather william 1894 so i know that some of the thomas johnson robsons cant possibly be his father as they are too young so it leaves me to believe either thomas johnson robson 1861 0r 1863 is his father

all my relatives can remember is that my grandfather had a brother named matthew, they cant recall the names of other siblings...they did say tho that one brother was a step brother

i dont know exactly where he died but i am almost sure he died in newcasle upon tyne around 1967 /65

you may need to order your Grandfathers birth certificate........ now you say he was born in 1893, sometimes a year or 2 may have been forgotten about, this is quite common especially as we get older. So here are all the William Robson births in Newcastle for 1892 til 1894;

If you Grandfather didn't have a middle name then there are 4 to choose from, if you order a birth cert from the GRO then you can include a checking reference for the fathers name, if the fathers name isn't Thomas then they should refund you a few pounds and not send the certificate.

It maybe a little pricey this way but I just can't see another way forward (or should I say backward!!! LOL!!!) for you.
