Thank you all so much - I will have to look in to the name Gellibrand/Gellbrand.

I didn't think help would be so prompt!!

Thank you again.

Chris

I agree Andrew, the original looks more like Vaughan than Kingham.

The witnesses were John Girtin and G Hamp.

Co-incidentally there was a marriage at the same church in October 1814 for a William Vaughan to an Elizabeth Carter and one of the witnesses was G Hamp.

Do you have a connection to the Hamp name anywhere on your tree, Christine?? Perhaps a Vaughan sister marrying a Hamp?

EDIT - that's interesting about professional parish witness Jonesey - will bear that in mind. See, I've learnt something new today as well!!

Ancestry version. Image could say Vaughan and the signatures are much clearer.

Hello,

I am trying to discover if my ancestor, Henry William Vaughan, married Elizabeth 'Yellibrand'. I know he married an Elizabeth, and I have found a marriage on IGI of Henry Vaughan marrying Elizabeth Yellibrand 30 April 1818, at Old Church, St Pancras. I feel that her surname may have been mistranscribed as it isn't known on any 'Search' I have made. Their children were:- Mary Ann - 1819 in Clerkenwell; Sarah - 1823 in Hackney; Charles - 1825 in Shoreditch; John - 1828 in Greenwich; Emma - 1829 in Greenwich; and Alfred 1831, also in Greenwich. Henry was an engraver. He died in Greenwich in 1838. His widow married William Buck. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Any help/advice would be welcome.

Many thanks,

Chris
