Now, unless this John Flippance married again later in life and was fathering children in his 70's it's likely to be one of the offspring who was married in 1937.

As suggested by jax its possible that the first name could have been dropped, so the likely candidate from this family would be Reginald J.

Is it also possible that the John Flippence who was married in 1937 wasn't the one born in Burbage, but his father was? If you don't know when he was born, how do you know where he was born? Where have you found this information from? Family memories can sometimes get a bit confused. I know this to be true as my paternal gt grandmother was reputed to be Spanish but was actually an Essex girl!!

There are no other John Flippence/Flippance born in the registration district you have given after 1881 I'm afraid.

HOWEVER, I do agree with the other researchers that you can't be sure unless you buy the marriage certificate. Without that solid foundation anything else is just pure conjecture and you are spending your valuable time chasing shadows.

I wonder if this is another child for John and Marjorie? I realise that mmn is Witch but it seems a bit of a coincidence to me and it does say Witch on the image...

In this case, you have to buy the certificate because there are no records to be accessed that would be your guy with any certainty.


So, you have to decide whether you want an accurate tree or an "iffy".

Sylvia. I am sorry you have taken the attitude you have. I have a family tree of over a thousand and if I had to buy a cert every time i hit a wall, it would cost me a fortune. I am a pensioner not a millionaire. Incidently, i do subscibe to Genes reunited and Ancestry but I am new to this and lack the knowledge. Sorry, I was only asking a favour. The last census available is 1911 .... it is guesswork that the John on the 1911 census is your John


You might be able to find him on an Electoral Roll ..... once he reaches voting age, and assuming you know his address.




if you really want to know, you'll get that certificate, stop complaining, and stop expecting others to find the information for you

................. just incidentally using their own money for subscriptions to sites that allow them to find the information that you want, and you won't do anything to confirm whether we are even following the correct family
