It's unwise to assume and could be very costly in time and money if you spend ages following the wrong line.

If you bought the marriage certificate of Rosannah and George, you would get their fathers 'names and occupations and hopefully be then able to find the family in census.
Witness names may also prove to be a big help.

Never assume.

Have you acquired the marriage cert?
Could be clues on there like witnesses, father's occupation etc.

Work backwards from what you can prove.

I am trying to trace the father of Sarah Rock 1913-1980,
her mother was Rosannah Price and her father George Rock.The parents were married in March 1912 Stourbridge Vol 6c page 154
There was a birth of a George Rock also in stourbridge in Birth Reg Oct/Nov/dec 1879 Stourbridge Vol 6c Page 196

I am wondering if people think I should assume this is the father.
