I've looked for Robert Barr's who are colliery managers, not a one. There is a colliery labourer and a couple of coal miners, and that's it.

Ozi,

On his son's marriage certificate of 27.11.1904. he's Manager of a Colliery, so perhaps he didn't become a manager until later in his life. I would assume it's something to do with coal mining and not farming. Maybe he was baptised James Robert Barr and then called Robert to family and friends later.
