I am now trying to find sarah williams family she was born 1851c father edward a horse dealer she married in fulham isleworth given as her address so i think her family could be from that area could some kind person check the 1861 census thanks Cindy

Information on a death certificate is largely what the informant knows, which may not be accurate.


The only information that is reliable on a death certificate for an adult is:-

date of death
place of death
name of doctor, or coroner
name of informant


ALL other information is only "hearsay", what the deceased told people, or wanted people to know.


Children's death certificates are of course usually more reliable.

Sorry MarieCeleste last night visitors came and i couldn't get back to you.I have the fox family in 1901 censusI have his death 1945 age 95 thats how I came to 1850 birth.Witness at the wedding was Edward Williams brides father and one Rhoda looks like Hatten surname i wondered if that was his mother just a guess though.thanks for your help I will keep delving his family must be somewhere

Cyndy, the info that Choccy posted seemed to suggest that he was the son of Rhoda Fox who later married William Maisey.

George Henry did go on to name his own daughter Rhoda.

Now, I know on the marriage and the 1881 it gives his birth year as 1850 but the baptism posted is for 1846, but ages change all the time on certificates and census records, mainly down to poor literacy.

As regards his father being named on the marriage certificate - well, some father's are complete fabrications to "save face".

Do you have George Henry on any later census to corroborate place and birth year?
