I have been contacted by someone abroad, to help to try to figure out the male parent of a Anna Tennent / Tennant born 1878 in Chester-Le-Street, Durham

Anna appears on the 1881 census as Ann Tennent, and is living with her grandfather, however there are a number of possibilities in the houshold that could be her farther. Could someone have a peep at the latter census's and see if we can put a name to him please.

The best way would be to get her birth certificate; that will give both parents' names. If it doesn't show a father's name then she'd be illegitimate.

Thanks Cathy, if definately looks like Ralph is the most likely candidate as 'dad', especially as Ann(a's) and Ralphs addresses are similar. xx

She is shown on 1881 census as Thomas's wife, which seems highly unlikely to me!

AND - if you check freebmd, there is NO marriage for Thomas to Elizabeth which could possibly fit
