Find Ancestors

After 1891 when she was living with her grandmother in Haslingfield my trail runs cold. In fact I cannot find any Annie Emmas. Anybody any ideas please?

Could she have married before the l90l census - have you tried a search on this site to see if anyone else is looking for the family, the IGI on familysearch.org or free bmd for a marriage

Who was the grandmother?

I have looked for marriages on various sites but nothing seems to tie in. Lots of Annies and lots of Emmas.

Her grandmother was Sophia Hood.

Annie was born in Shepton Mallet in 1880 - Sophia (my gg grandmother probably just filled in what she thought she would).

Yes that is the correct census for 1881. I thought that as Annie's mum came from Haslingfield maybe she had married there or even died there, can't find any clues even with Camdex.

Have you got the marriage cert for Sarah's FATHER's name?

It seems odd for her to be born in Cambridgeshire, and married in Somerset

I have the marriage certificate for Sarah Ann Hood and Richard Poole 5 August 1879. Her father's name and profession is correct and the witness is one of her sisters. I found Annie's birth on FreeBMD. Sarah died a couple of months after giving birth.

Sarah was in service - firstly she went to Lancashire and I lost her, I only found her last week on FreeREG Parish registers, just by chance. She then must have travelled to Somerset for work, where she married quite late in life.

Still I would dearly love to find Annie Emma.

Yes, Reuben was one of Sarah's brothers. You know I feel sorry for poor Annie. I don't know if her father died or not, can't find anything further on him but her mother came from a large family, that's why I was so sure it was her with Sophia.
