thought so - GR do not allow duplicates on the same family Steven - please delete this one and concentrate on the other

Do you have his birth cert showing James as his father?
What was his mother's name?

his fathers name is from his marriage certicate

Mike *

Mike * Report 29 Jun 2010 16:33

Not necessarily a true record .... lots of marriage certs contain names of "Fathers" which turn out to be stepfathers or totally fictitous.

Check the birth certifcate before going any further back .

Just learn from it Steven,

We will forgive you if you are new but, as you can see, if you start two threads on the same 'close relatives', it means that people will look up the same information twice and so get irritated.

Best of luck but keep these people together on the same thread please.

Amazing how many people are GR members for five or six years before they use the boards

I get quite a few replies stating that fact to be honest. A lot of folk seem to just build their tree without looking at the other aspects of this site.

I didn't gravitate to them naturally. It was a couple of years before I tried them out tentatively and then I forgot about them can you believe? It was much later before I became hooked!! Cx
