When I walked into the kitchen this morning my wife was making our breakfast of soft boiled eggs and toast.

The moment I came in my wife rushed over to me and said, "you've got to make love to me, right this moment."

Keen not to disappoint I obliged and gave it my all.

Afterwards my wife said, "Thanks" and went straight back to the stove.

Happy but a little puzzled I enquired, "What was all that about?"

She explained, "The egg timers broke." :-D

Thank you Cynthia - I have just finished my 'mountain' so I will go and look now before I collect the grandchildren.

Sounds like your OH is getting his 'money's worth' from those Physio's ;-) :-D

I think one is iannouce.co.uk Dea. If you google obituaries and the name of the town you are searching in, then it should pop up already for you.

OH has been well and truly 'mauled' this morning..... :-D :-D The neuro physios are absolutely brilliant. One is a trainee so she has to be very 'hands on' literally. They are teaching him how to flex his shoulder muscles in order to keep them flexible. I was watching closely so that I can tell if he is doing it right or not.

The body is such a wonderful mechanism..... back posture is important in order to maintain flexibility in the neck muscles. Good stuff. :-)

Now I must tackle Mount Everest of the ironing variety.......~~~~~

Anyone know the names of the 2 sites where you can look up recent death notices please?

Good morning - thank you Gins. I've made some porridge as well. It's wet and windy outside......brrrr

Have been doing a bit of tidying up because of the Physio coming later. She quite often sits on the floor so thought I had better vacuum it!!!

I still think Sylvs relatives sound as annoying as Diane!

Sylvs.....there's quite a good page on FB who maybe able to help......Genealogy Research Assistance I believe it's called.......some very friendly and helpful folk on there. ;-)

See you all later.........

those scones sound good!!!

Cyn ........

it's t'other way round from Evelyn's mother!!

........ I have everything for Great Aunt from birth until 1942

I can't be sure of her husband until he marries her in 1902.

I cannot find his birth, on census, etc .................. but unlike Diane, it's because his is a very common name

Mind you, he might be telling some porkies, as well .................... when going to the US, he says they are going to (name and address in Newark), relationship ... sister.

I can find people with that name living at that address ........... but I cannot connect Gt Uncle with a sister who married a man with that name

The last record with them on is 1942 ........................ and they really cannot be still alive now.

They'd be around 138 years old :-D

You sound as though you're as much luck with your gt-aunt as we're having with Evelyn's mother Sylvs. Do you reckon they're in cahoots? :-D :-D

Usual busy morning today but just pootling around on the puter this afternoon......

OH's physio is due tomorrow morning - just as well - his neck has been playing up again ..... sigh.

Our Dea is such an Archers fan isn't she? I only catch bits of it when I'm in the car so haven't a clue what is going on these days.

Glad you had a nice lunch with your sister Gins - hope she has settled down okay. <3

No visitor for us tonight Dea...........he has to be somewhere else but said he'd rather be at ours!! :-D

Just taken daughter home so going for a browse......

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 12 May 2013 19:19

I spent hours yesterday evening ............... literally, about 6 hours altogether!

I was given access to ancestry ww, and so was trying to find information on my great-aunt and her husband, who lived in Newark NJ, up until sometime in the 1940s (him) and 1950s (her).

The latest information I could find was a city directory, which showed them both still living in the same house.

I know she died sometime around 1953-56 .................... unless I've gone really batty ........ don't answer that!!!

...... because I can remember quite clearly my mother getting the letter about Aunt Hannah's death. I can "see" in my mind what I was doing when Mum told me.

But, I have never been able to find their deaths

It was driving me cross-eyed last night

I was at it until after 1 am :-(
