From GR FB

We experienced problems with the new version of the tree earlier on this evening that affected the main site. We have had to revert back to the 'old tree' so everyone can continue to do their family history over the weekend. We will release the new tree early next week. Thanks for your feedback to date with the tree.

we didn't get the forecast "heavy snow" .... only a couple of cms

still OH went out with his shovel, cleared our areas, then cleared the sidewalk in front of the next 2 neighbours.

He's still talking a lot!

Problems With New Tree
philmoir Advisor 20 Jan 2012 19:34

We are aware that there are problems with the new tree and are currently trying to resolve the issues.

UPDATE: 9PM UK TIME - Although we have made some configuration changes that may have allowed members to use the new tree, we have rolled back to our previous version so that over the weekend members can still access the old version. The link to the new tree is available for some members as it was during the beta test phase. If you should find that the new tree is not responding, we would recommend using the old tree for the moment.

Our sincerest apologies,
Phil Moir
Lead Developer, Genes Reunited

I know you will be pleased to know that I renewed tonight :-D

I was in two minds, but as I was in the middle of something and had just found some info for someone ...I gave in

I only took up this hobby two years ago for something to do as I could no longer work and it was cheaper than online gaming.

I am not sure if I am into genealogy (well not my own family) I have about 650 in my tree and have only purchased two certificates, and that was right at the start of my search (mums parents marriage cert and her dads birth) but I feel it is correct so far.

I dont really have anyone to pass it onto as my kids are not interested in me so I am sure they are not going to be interested in my ancestors, so I am not going to buy any more certs to be thrown in the bin :-(

It was nice to find that my mums side of the family had better jobs as in Tailors, shoemakers,Hackney cab driver....where as my dads were all labourers,Ag labs and such like. Also very pleased to see all the illigitamate and very rushed marriages were all on my dads side...mum would have loved to rub her MIL's nose in it :-D

Anyway I am here for a tad longer now...just hope I hav'nt wasted this £9.95 because I could have bought a pack of fags and a voddie and coke with that ;-)

I once heard that take-aways (chinese) weren't particularly fattening. Don't know how true it is though. I knew a lady whose family had a take away about 5 nights out of 7 (!!!) and they were as thin as lathes (and pale too).... :-S

It's absolutely horrible here and daughter wants to go into town..... :-S
