Had a phone call from my friend's OH. He and son have been to see her tonight. Although she is out of bed, she didn't recognise her son. It's so unbelievable. They both seem to think that it's some 'mechanical' which the hospital will fix!!

OOOh Cynths - I think under these circumstances people make themselves believe what they want to believe - It is difficult to accept that your 'loved one' cannot be returned to you in the form that you remember them !

I am sure they realise really but just are not ready to accept it yet.

Keep with them - they will appreciate your support !

That photo was either 79 or 80......I think it was the last time Shirls had her afro hair.... she had a perm after that and looked like Michael Jackson!

Come to think of it I had a perm too......I looked like a later version of Michael Jackson ;)

Dea, what I find so sad, is that just 12 months ago, she was struggling to get the right care for her husband's brother who had dementia. I do wonder if all the stress has tipped her over the edge.

We used to be known as The Terrible Twins in the church organisation we were both in.

But Im sure I have her on Census now with parents...She had a daughter called Bertha and a son called William and I find her with a sister called Bertha in the right place...
