Good morning Gin. You are up very early for a dirty stopout.

One of my great grandfathers probably scaled greater heights than any of yours, he was a steeplejack. (lol)

Help!!!!!!!!!!

My computer blew up yesterday and as it was about 5 years old I decided to splash the cash and treat myself to a new one. I quickly managed to get the new computer up and running although it will take me most of the weekend to install my other software and recover all my lost contacts and favourite websites.

The one problem that I have discovered up to now is with my use of Ancestry. I never got on with their "New search" form preferring to use their old search form instead which gives much more control of the search criteria. Now having had to start afresh and having to sign in again I find that I am presented with their "New search" form and I cannot see how to get back to the "Old" one.

Any instructions or tips?

Dea

Dea Report 26 Feb 2011 09:13

I seem to remember that I had that problem and somewhere at the top right of the search page is 'Old search' which you click on.

I think you had to do the search and when the results came up it was there - top right' ??

I will go and see if I can find it again >>>>>>>

Dea Report 26 Feb 2011 09:16

Yes - go to the main search page:

I put in 'John Smith' England and when the results came up - the option was there - top right, just under the bar where it says - Home, Family Trees, Search, Collaborate etc...

I don't like the new search either !!!

Dea,

Thanks for responding but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for me. When you say "Main search page", do you mean the search form on the Ancestry "Home" page?

Gee

Gee Report 26 Feb 2011 09:27

Go to Search at the top on Ancestry and to your right there is an option for Old Search
