Just had a quick nosey through the census return. Its quite detailed and some sections look like a dole application!

I wonder how that will scan for our decendants....not that Im worried!

jax Report 8 Mar 2011 18:19

Gee Report 8 Mar 2011 18:22

Ja...x you know if you complete the census online then wont that be a bummer for decendants who want to see your writing?

Are we supposed to wait until the 27th to fill it in...caus if that date is a Friday I might not have enough room for the people staying over!

jax

jax Report 8 Mar 2011 18:27

No census form in this house yet...
Maybe Wales isnt doing one this time??

I wasnt on the last 3,so prob wont be on this one either,my descendants will have to look at letters or our family tree written by me ,if any are saved by someone,if they want to see my handwriting...;0(

Gee

Gee Report 8 Mar 2011 18:46

Wales are getting two census forms each house, one in Welsh and one in English as my mother inlaw told me today.....waste of money she says

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 8 Mar 2011 19:32

No its not,Welsh speakers /thinkers should be able to fill out the forms in their native tongue .!

ALL forms in Wales come in English/ Welsh.....Our driving license is in both languages as well...
And why not???

Gee

Gee Report 8 Mar 2011 19:34

No Fans what she meant was where she lives in Flint there are no Welsh speakers...sweeping statement but her words not mine

Gee

Gee Report 8 Mar 2011 19:35

And all the road signs are in both languages....no problem, it is Wales!

are you all filling in the same census, or are there long and short versions?

CCSVI has had very mixed press over here. Lots of ms patients want to be able to have it in country, but the doctors are refusing to accept it as a valid treatment ............... unproven, they say.

so we have people travelling to Mexico or Poland to have it done.

And there have been some very sad endings to such travel.

I need a new passport, so OH took me to the photographers yesterday afternoon to get the new photos

uh oh

he wouldn't take the piccies

I was wearing an ivory-coloured sweater, a very pale ivory.

He said "white tops are not allowed. They will only refuse it. It's because we have to use a white or very pale background".

I knew we weren't to wear glasses, not smile or grimace, mouth closed, eyes open, looking to a point about 3' above the camera, not wear head coverings ................... but not about restrictions on colour of clothes.

Came home, checked the regulations and instructions on the application form.

NO mention of any colour restrictions :((

BUT ......... glasses can now be worn so long as the eyes are completely visible

Headgear cannot be worn, unless it is of a religious nature BUT in that case the full face must be visible ........... I guess some religions will still have a problem.

I thought this was good of Passport Canada though ................ Passport Canada is, however, lenient about the expression of a newborn (mouth open or smile).

ah well, will try again another day!

This morning, I was once again reminded why we do not live elsewhere in Canada

75 cm of snow fell in 24 hours on Monday in Sherbrooke, Quebec

That's 15" or so!

and they can blame the US, the storm came up from the south :))))

they usually blame us!!!!

jax Report 8 Mar 2011 20:09

I have not travelled more than 3 miles from my home in over a year, so Poland is out of the question...plus I do not have a passport anymore.

Strange thing is there were a few people on the MS site saying they were going for this treatment who were regular posters....not heard a word from them since!! So did it not work and they are ashamed to come back? or are they cured? which I doubt very much

SylviaInCanada Report 8 Mar 2011 20:19

one of the problems that has happened here is poeple returning from the trip abroad, and then needing some treatment of the operation site

it is then difficult to find a doctor who will attempt to correct whatever has gone wrong.

Some ms patients have reported fantastic results.

that is strange, ja...x

I would have thought that they would have wanted to report back ........ no matter what happened.
